The idea came to me when I was thinking about how to motivate others—and myself—after deciding to give up my public transport ticket and cycle through autumn and winter instead. There are days when you simply don’t want to deal with traffic or the city’s less-than-perfect cycling infrastructure.
At the time, I still had a lot of fabric left over, so I made the first large, cheerful smiley flag, hoping to hang it somewhere prominent so that cyclists could see it. That turned out to be trickier than I expected. So the flag became a sticker—much easier to carry in your pocket. A little later, the sticker turned into a linocut, and now the first T-shirts are ready.
